so this is really my favorite gas station in the world. not because of the price of gas, which is always high because this is a malibu / PCH coastal middle of nowhere station. But more for the location & vibe. If you stop here, located at Solstice Canyon rd on the Pacific Coast Highway, you can pump your gas with a view. While listening to waves crashing very nearby you can look up this humongous hill to the south, sometimes covered in the yellowest flowers you've ever seen. Really they but buttercups to shame. Inside they have ok coffee and a wide selection of beef jerky. Just north is some beautiful country and good winds for kitesurfing, just south is the monster. LA. Head north and you are in Solstice Canyon, you may not come back until it's time for more gas, views and jerky. Shot on the little Canon S90 on the way back from a really fun kite sesh with the Dr., Brandon & Steve. Still learning, but having a blast riding the surf board.
